Terms of Service
Last updated: [DATE — fill in on publish]
[bracketed placeholder] — especially the refund window and
governing law — is a real business decision that needs to be confirmed, and a qualified
attorney should review this before it goes live.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of afrosiob.com and the Afrosiob student portal at app.afrosiob.com (together, the "Services"), operated by [Afrosiob / Company Legal Name] ("Afrosiob," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or enrolling in a program, you agree to these Terms.
1. The program
Afrosiob provides a part-time, cohort-based training program in cloud computing and DevOps, combining self-paced lesson content, quizzes, hands-on labs, homework, live instructor-led sessions, a capstone project, and career preparation content. Program structure, schedule, and content are described on our website and may be updated from time to time as the curriculum evolves.
We do not guarantee employment, job placement, or any specific career outcome. Any statistics referenced on our website about student outcomes are illustrative only unless explicitly stated as verified results for a specific cohort.
2. Enrollment and payment
- The program is billed at a flat rate of $650/month (USD), charged at the start of each billing period, for the duration of the program (~7 months).
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By enrolling, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel or the program ends.
- Access is tied to active payment. If a monthly payment fails or is not made, your access to the student portal and live sessions will be suspended until payment is resolved. This is by design, not an error — you can resume access (including your existing progress) by completing payment for the missed period(s).
- You may cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period already paid for.
3. Refund policy
[Business decision needed — draft placeholder below, confirm before publishing:]
- New students may request a full refund within [7–14] days of their first payment if they are unsatisfied with the program.
- After that window, and for all subsequent monthly payments, payments are non-refundable, but you retain access through the end of the period already paid for.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials or allow others to access the Services using your account
- Copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly republish course content, lesson materials, or recordings without our written permission
- Use the Services in a way that harasses, disrupts, or interferes with other students or instructors, including during live sessions
- Attempt to circumvent grading systems, access controls, or other students' data
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. AI-assisted features
Some parts of the Services use AI (via Anthropic's Claude models) to assist with grading lab and homework submissions and to power the "CloudIT AI" chat assistant on our website. AI-generated grades and feedback are a starting point, not a final judgment — an administrator can review and override any AI-generated grade, and you may request a human review of a grade you believe is incorrect. AI chat responses are provided for general educational information and should not be relied on as professional advice.
6. Intellectual property
All course content, lesson materials, quizzes, and platform software are owned by Afrosiob (or licensed to us) and are provided to you for personal, non-commercial use during your enrollment. Work you create as part of labs, homework, and your capstone project belongs to you — you're welcome to include it in your own portfolio.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Services and cancel your enrollment at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if: your payment fails and is not resolved (Section 2), you violate the acceptable use terms (Section 4), or we discontinue the Services or a specific program, in which case we'll make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled students in advance.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any certification, job, or career outcome will result from completing the program. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afrosiob's total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify enrolled students by email before the changes take effect.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction — e.g. State of ___, USA], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
