This Privacy Policy explains how [Afrosiob / Company Legal Name] ("Afrosiob," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our marketing website at afrosiob.com, use our AI chat assistant, submit our contact form, or enroll in and use our student learning portal at app.afrosiob.com (together, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us directly

• Contact form (afrosiob.com): name, email address, and the message you submit. This is delivered to our team by email and is not stored in a database.
• Account creation (student portal): your name, email address, and password when you or an administrator creates your account. Passwords are managed and hashed by AWS Cognito — we never see or store your password in plain text.
• Profile information: an optional profile photo, which you can add or remove at any time.
• Notification email addresses: you may add up to 5 email addresses (e.g. your own, or someone else's such as a parent or mentor) to receive notifications about your grades, deadlines, and progress. If you add someone else's email address, you are responsible for having their permission to do so.
• Payment information: when you enroll, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your card number or other payment card details — Stripe collects this directly and shares with us only what's needed to manage your enrollment (such as payment status and receipt history).

1.2 Information collected automatically as you use the Services

• Learning activity: which lessons you've viewed and completed, quiz answers and scores, lab and homework submission content, attempt history, and daily activity/streak dates.
• AI chat messages (afrosiob.com): messages you send to our "CloudIT AI" assistant are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. Conversation history is kept only in your browser for the duration of your session and is not stored on our servers.
• AI-assisted grading (student portal): the text of your lab and homework submissions is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a grade and written feedback. An administrator can review or override any AI-generated grade.

We do not currently use cookies, web analytics, or advertising trackers on afrosiob.com. If that changes, this policy will be updated to describe what's added and, where required, we'll ask for your consent first.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and enrollment
• To deliver course content, grade quizzes/labs/homework, and track your progress
• To send transactional emails you've opted into — grade notifications, deadline reminders, leaderboard updates, and new content alerts — only to the notification email address(es) you've provided
• To respond to contact form submissions and support requests
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To maintain the security and integrity of the Services

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.

3. Who we share information with

We share information with the following service providers ("processors") who help us run the Services. They are only permitted to use your data to provide these services to us:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, authentication (Cognito), data storage (DynamoDB, S3), email delivery (SES), and backend compute (Lambda). Data is hosted in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region.
• Anthropic — processes AI chat messages (afrosiob.com) and lab/homework submission text (student portal) to generate responses and grading feedback.
• Stripe — processes payments. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for how they handle your payment data.

Administrators of the student portal (instructors/staff) can see your learning activity, submissions, and grades as part of running the program. We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law.

4. Data retention

We retain your account and learning activity data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after in case you re-enroll. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7). Contact form submissions are not retained in a database beyond the email sent to our team.

5. Data security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), AWS Cognito for authentication, and access controls limiting who can view student data to authorized administrators. No system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.

6. Children's privacy

The Services are intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data (most of this you can already do yourself in Settings/Profile)
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

8. International visitors

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you're visiting or enrolling from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
